The effect of matric suction on the strength and deformation as well as water content of intact loess are studied in this paper . using the direct shear testing equipment and consolidation testing equipment and modified triaxial testing equipment in the university of logistical engineering in chunqing . 4 groups ( 16 specimens ) consolidated drained direct shear tests and 2 groups ( 6 specimens ) consolidated tests as well as 1 group ( 3 specimens ) triaxial shear tests with controling matric suction were conducted 用新研制的国内第一台非饱和土固结仪、国内第一台非饱和土直剪仪和经过改进的非饱和土三轴仪,做了4组16个非饱和土直剪试验; 2组6个非饱和土固结试验; 1组3个控制吸力的非饱和土三轴试验。
